VBA Objectives
Victory Baptist is founded upon principles found in God's Word, the Bible. From these principles come the following objectives:
I. To Teach Faith in God
A. To teach that God is the Sovereign Creator, sustainer, and controller of the universe.
B. To teach that all men are by nature sinful and in need of regeneration.
C. To teach that the Lord Jesus Christ is the Son of God who came to earth to shed His blood and die for sin.
D. To teach the necessity of receiving Christ's gift of salvation, repenting of our sin and believing the Gospel.
E. To teach that the Bible (Scripture) is the only Word of God and that it is applicable and essential in every day living.
F. To teach that growth in the Christian life depends upon fellowship with God through reading the Bible, prayer, and service.
II. To Build Christian Character
A. To teach the student, through discipleship, Christian character traits, truthfulness, responsibility, fairness, diligence, etc.
B. To teach discernment in daily living.
C. To teach the student his responsibility in sharing his faith with others.
D. To teach the student to be concerned about others before he is concerned about himself.
E. To teach the student the proper way to form and to cultivate his relations with others.
F. To teach the application of Biblical ethic and standards of morality in every facet of life.
G. To teach that dress and actions are to be appropriate for time, place and event, and in accord with the principles of God's Word.
III. To Achieve Academic Excellence
A. To maintain a high level of performance from each student without undue pressure on any individual.
B. To challenge each student to accept individual responsibility for his own academic progress.
C. To teach the student to work both independently and cooperatively.
D. To develop an appreciation of fine arts in the student.
E. To give the student the knowledge and skills required for future academic experience and for occupational competence.
F. To teach the student that all true knowledge emanates from Jesus Christ and revolves around His Word, the Bible.
G. To teach the student that "the fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge...." Proverbs 1:7
IV. To Teach About the United States of America
A. To make each student aware of his heritage as a citizen of the great United States of America.
B. To teach each student his individual responsibility to his community his state and his country.
C. To teach each student to be proud to be an American.
D. To teach each student to recognize the current problems facing our country and the world in the light of Scriptures and his American heritage.
